Make the most of your storage unit

Organizing and packing your unit can be a difficult task. Here are three tips that will help you maximize your self storage unit’s space:

Break it down – Save space by disassembling items like tables, bookshelves, and beds, into easy-to-store, stackable pieces. If you are concerned about the furniture getting scratched, place sections of cardboard or cushion foam between the furniture pieces for extra protection.

Play Tetris – Use same-sized boxes and stack high and neatly. Put heavier and sturdier boxes on the bottom and lighter boxes near the top. Great creative!  Small boxes can fit in empty refrigerators, ovens, and freezers. Just remember to note down the contents on a label or master sheet so you can easily find items later.

Frequent at front – Place frequently used or needed items at the front of your unit. Some people like to create a small map of their unit so they have a visual representation of where things are. If all of your stored items need to be accessible, consider creating a small corridor within your unit.
