Temporary Rabbit Vaccination Clinic at our Quebec Street location
For immediate release
(VANCOUVER, BC) April 30, 2018 – After a deadly virus recently caused the death of dozens of local rabbits, Maple Leaf Self Storage donated space for the Regional Animal Protection Society (RAPS) to set up a temporary vaccination clinic.
RAPS has enough vaccines at the makeshift clinic to protect a total of 50 healthy rabbits. A vet and two assistants administered the medication free of charge. To keep pets safe and containing the potential spread of the virus, each individual was asked to keep their rabbit in their vehicle.
Rabbit Hemorrhagic disease (RHD) is extremely infectious between rabbits, and it often results in a painful death. It has been responsible for a huge loss of life at RAPS’ municipal shelter and multiple other locations around BC.
“We were shocked to hear about this devastating virus,” said Tracy McEvoy, Director at Maple Leaf Self Storage. “RAPS was looking for a safe, clean location for their temporary clinic and we’re happy to be in the position to help.”

RAPS is a not-for-profit. If you’d like to make a donation to help them recoup their loss from this virus, contact Julie Desgroseillers at [email protected].
