Maple Leaf Self Storage Announced as Burn Fund’s Official Storage Partner
Maple Leaf Self Storage is the new official home of more than three million special twinkling lights. These Christmas lights and animated light displays transform the forest, train, and plaza into a land of enchantment in the heart of the world-famous Stanley Park.
Bright Nights is a time-honored Christmas tradition which has delighted more than 200,000 visitors annually since opening in 1997. Guests enjoy hot cocoa while taking in the light displays and entertainment before taking a ride on the magical Christmas train.
Professional firefighters from across the province come together every year to artfully create these special displays, volunteering some 2,700 combined hours of their personal time to bring this wonderland to the public.
In addition to the tremendous time commitment of setting up and taking down Bright Nights, these volunteers have made multiple return trips to Burn Fund storage units which housed much of the display and lights. These facilities were previously located in multiple cities across the Lower Mainland, adding considerable time to the already lengthy process of creating this special Christmas tradition.
This year, Maple Leaf Self Storage is the new home to these wonderful light displays which bring so much joy to the visitors of Bright Nights. With its community support mind-set and solution-focused expertise, Maple Leaf Self Storage has solved the challenge of lengthy decoration transportation by creating a centralized location to house all storage in Vancouver – just a short commute to Stanley Park. The result of this support will create time efficiencies for both the Burn Fund volunteers as well as staff to better support burn awareness, prevention and research programs throughout the province.
The BC Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund is thrilled to have Maple Leaf Self Storage join its corporate family as the Official Storage Company of the Burn Fund.
