Canadian Self Storage Association Goes on Tour
Maple Leaf Self Storage is a proud member of the Canadian Self Storage Association (CSSA), and knows the benefits of being an active member in the self storage business community.
Members of Maple Leaf Self Storage were pleased to attend the CSSA’s recent conference, as well as share knowledge on operations and construction. On May 1 and 2, self storage operators from across Western Canada gathered for the 8th Annual Canadian Self Storage Association conference, tradeshow and tour for an informative and fun-filled itinerary.
Sue Margeson, Director of the CSSA, made some changes to this year’s event format, and included a panel discussion on Self Storage Operations in a Town Hall format. Maple Leaf Self Storage Director, Tracy McEvoy, was a member of the professional panel that fielded questions ranging from rental rates to lease agreements to search engine optimization.
All Conference delegates toured three facilities: Fortress Self Storage in Port Coquitlam, Self Storage Depot in Burnaby, and Maple Leaf’s very own Port Coquitlam location. Built by Prism Construction in 2005, the Port Coquitlam location is one of our largest and most active facilities. Omar Rawji, Vice President of Prism Construction and sponsor of the day’s tour, was on hand to showcase his firm’s construction and project management capabilities.
It was a jam-packed event, with many opportunities to meet self storage operators who want to speak about common issues and learn about new industry trends.
